Here's How to Make the Perfect Drink for Your Oscar Party
Celebrity party planner Mindy Weiss gives us the scoop on her go-to beverage for this year's festivities.
The Oscars are this Sunday night, and if you're anything like us, you're probably more excited about your chic viewing party than the actual show. If you're still debating the details of your stylish soiree, celebrity party planner Mindy Weiss is here to help. She's teaming up with Saturday Night Live funny gal Vanessa Bayer and Kohl's to host a live Periscope viewing party for Oscar aficionados (you can follow @Kohls on Twitter to join in on the fun).
Weiss took some time to give us the scoop on one of her Oscar party essentials: a delicious signature drink. "I’m really into Moscow Mules right now," she says. "Not only do they taste great, but the classic metallic mugs they are served in are very on trend."
Indeed, Moscow Mules are traditionally served in copper mugs, but don't fret if you don't have a matching set lying around. “Mixing and matching what you already have can create a fun and eclectic style," Weiss adds. "I always like mixing old with new. To add a personal touch and keep guests from forgetting which glass belongs to them, a bit of garnish goes a long way.”
For other fun ways to add a personal touch to your beverages, Weiss suggests party straws (like the festive gold and black ones above) or even chalkboard coasters.
As for the Moscow Mules themselves, check out this short video to see how easy it is to make the simple, yet oh-so-tasty, drink. Mindy's full recipe is below. Happy Oscar watching!
